Ranking
6 models, best first. Each bar compares a model with the rest of this list: the best on every point would score 100.
Scores reward a low price, a big lawn size, steep slope ratings and long warranties, all as the makers state them. They don't measure how well a mower maps, avoids obstacles or handles your lawn, so use them to shortlist, then read the model pages.

How the score works
Weights: lowest price 30, max lawn size 25, max slope 25, warranty 20
Weights
- 30
Lowest price, lower is better.
- 25
Max lawn size, higher is better.
- 25
Max slope, higher is better.
- 20
Warranty, higher is better.
Steps
- 1
Each criterion is scaled from 0, the worst of these 6 models, to 1, the best. For lowest price, lower is better, so the lowest value scores 1.
- 2
Each scaled value is multiplied by its weight, and the results are added up to a score out of 100. Models with the same score share a rank.
- 3
A model is ranked only if it has its own page here and a value for every criterion (navigation LiDAR).
Who is ranked
This list covers models whose navigation type is LiDAR, which maps the yard with a laser scanner and needs no sky view. Six models qualify, from $949 to $2,799.99. Each needs a stated mowing area, a stated maximum slope, a current price and a warranty in years. Models that pair LiDAR with RTK GPS, such as the Mammotion LUBA 3 AWD 3000, are a separate navigation type and are not ranked here. The Ecovacs GOAT LiDAR PRO models are also left out because the data lacks a stated mowing area. Price carries the most weight, then area and slope at equal weight, then warranty. Slope is the maker's stated maximum, not a tested result.
What stands out
Dreame takes four of the top five places. The Dreame A3 AWD 2000 ranks first at $1,699.99 with a 0.5 acre rating, an 80 percent slope rating and a 3 year warranty. The Dreame A3 AWD 1000 is a point behind at $1,399.99 and rates for 0.25 acres. The Dreame A3 AWD Pro 5000 is the pick for big lawns at 1.2 acres, and the Pro 3500 covers 0.87 acres.
The Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500H is fifth at $1,799 with an 80 percent slope rating and 0.37 acres. The Anthbot M5 LiDAR is the cheapest at $949 but rates for only 0.12 acres and 45 percent slopes, so it suits a small flat yard.
How to use this list
Pick by lawn size first, then slope. LiDAR works under trees and in shade, which is its main advantage over RTK. Our guide to RTK vs LiDAR vs camera robot mowers explains the trade-offs. If you do not want to mount an antenna, see the list of robot mowers without an RTK antenna.
